I use ASMR as a form of meditation. I found the phenomenon on YouTube when searching for ‘guided meditations.’ Beginning in 2013, I began frequenting YouTube in search of relaxation. I found first This Video, which I still watch occasionally, and then I began finding things like This and This as I searched and sifted through the millions of relaxation videos. I was introduced to the wonderful world of ASMR mere days after I divulged into online relaxation. YouTube is just one example of how the internet, if used correctly, can help propel a person’s life forward by educating and culturing.
While composing my previous article, I contacted a few of my favorite ASMR artists by email. The most elaborate a specific email I sent out was to Tarot Reader ASMR, in which I asked her to do a reading in regards to my website, this website. I sent this email out not only for my mature love of ASMR, but for my new love of Tarot.
I myself have a deck, and I use it daily while I am still learning the cards, everyday letting the mysterious of time unfold. If there is one thing I have learned about the Tarot, it is that the interpretation of the reader is the commanding power. In other areas and arts where I may lack confidence due to the overwhelmingness of anything new, the Tarot will not allow for this. If you do not have confidence and faith in your cards and your ability to read them, they will fail you. So while I learn the mysteries of the Tarot, I strive to maintain confidence, and let me tell you the ability to have confidence in a new skill stems from my long and monolithic love for meditation. Far before the days of looking up videos on YouTube, I would put on some music and make a strong effort to sit and be simple about life, really take it all in; I was 14 the first time I took an effort to meditate. It was important that I knew I was meditating. I didn’t know what I was looking for, but I saw the power the Buddhist Monks have over their mentality, and I knew I wanted that. It is not impossible I wanted it the most because it seemed the hardest to achieve. Still I am on a forever quest to tame my Monkey Mind.
Allow me not to digress; the subject of ASMR should not be forgotten, as that is why we are here. I sent the email to Tarot Reader ASMR on July 31st, and who woulda thunk it, but I received a reply. After an exchange of emails, and the usual latency of action due when two complex lives negotiate devotion of time for a project, we have some finished products.
Firstly, I am very proud to present the first collaboration with Heart of Zeus, an ASMR video!
The second finished product is this article. I am writing to spread awareness of ASMR. I talk to individuals everyday who seek a way out of their problems. Not enough people take the time to really try something new. If you are having a stressful day, consider sitting or lying in a comfortable position, and listening to the meditative voice of Tarot Reader ASMR.
Try meditation. Try ASMR.
